ABIGAIL VOLKMANN / ABOUT

Growing up in picturesque Chardon, Ohio, 30 miles east of Cleveland, I came to appreciate the beauty around me and was inspired to begin taking pictures. After graduating from Chardon High School, I studied Photo-Illustration at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, where I received my BSA.

After graduation, I moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where I began my professional photography career. My range of experience includes working with personal and commercial clients, self-assignment, and collaborating with other commercial photographers. This variety of experience enables me to tailor my services to the needs of clients.

While in Indianapolis, I was actively involved with the arts community, founded Art Space 30, a non-profit organization that encouraged local artists in a variety of mediums, and had a photo selected to hang in downtown Indianapolis as a part of their public arts program.

I have recently relocated to Richmond, Virginia and the beauty of the area has immediately inspired me.  I look forward to working in this vibrant city and experiencing all the adventure it has to offer. I also look forward to working with the arts community and continuing to encourage artists of all mediums.
